This is my first edition of SMK Column, even though it is SMK’s sixth edition. Enjoy reading and feedback is always appreciated.

It’s been two weeks since Stacy Keibler, along with Christy Hemme, was traded to Smackdown. On their first week, a lingerie pillow fight was scheduled to take place between Stacy and Christy. But before the match could begin, Network Executive Palmer Canon came out and announced that this match is not acceptable, the demographic the network is trying to attract does not want to see a lingerie pillow fight, and that the match is canceled. The pillow fight did not air on Smackdown, but the viewers present for the Smackdown recordings in Greensboro, NC got to see the pillow fight.

The following week, in Jacksonville, FL, Stacy and Christy were shown backstage with Network Executive Palmer Canon. Palmer apologized for canceling the lingerie match last week, saying he was just doing his job and trying to show the women in a positive light. He told the Divas they would have a traditional match later tonight in traditional wrestling gear. To start off the match, Stacy and Christy shook hands. The two divas locked up at the bell. Christy got a slight advantage over near the ropes but Stacy countered into a cartwheel. Sylvan Grenier’s music then hits and he does his entrance. Once Sylvan is inside the ring, Stacy and Christy are shown laughing at him. Grenier then claimed that that is how you do an entrance and he is sexier than Stacy and Christy. Hardcore Holly then came out, a smile on Stacy’s, Christy’s, and his own face. Holly tells Sylvan to leave because no one cares and says that the divas are really hot. Holly then attacks Sylvan after Sylvan calls him Bobby. Before Sylvan could do anything about it, Holly smacked him and tossed him from the ring. Holly, Stacy, and Christy then shared a group hug in the ring. Smackdown then went to a commercial break and the match never took place.

As we all know the so-called Network Executive Palmer Canon, is just a work; but what does this mean for Stacy? Could it be a set up for a feud between the divas and Palmer? Then how would you explain Hardcore Holly and Sylvan Grenier? Maybe WWE is just using the divas to set up a feud between Holly and Sylvan; that would be something WWE would do. Or maybe Stacy or Christy will turn heel and team with Sylvan for a mixed tag team feud. There are many different possible storylines the past two weeks could lead to. But of course, I can’t forget the popular no storyline so many of the talented divas have that WWE enjoys so much. Unfortunately for WWE, majority of the fans hate it. As Stacy’s dedicated fans, we can just hope that Stacy gets a decent storyline on Smackdown soon, especially with Smackdown moving from Thursday nights to Friday nights.
