7/30/04 Houseshow
The Coach came out and introduced the show, getting a tremendous heel response, he said Eric Bischoff left him in charge and he would be the ring announcer tonight.

(1) Val Venis pinned Chuck Palumbo. Good opener, Crowd was into Val and Palumbo got some surprisingly good heel heat. Earl Hebner was the referee hence the obligatory "you screwed Bret" chants which Earl played along with. Val won with the Money Shot.

Eric Bischoff then came out and ran down the crowd, he called out William Regal, said he didn't like him sticking his British nose in his family business. Said although Regal was prepared to wrestle he had a new opponent for him, Kane's music played....

(2) Kane pinned William Regal. Regal actually got most of the offense in during this match. Kane won with a chokeslam.

(3) Hurricane pinned Tyson Tomko. Something of a surprise here. Crowd was into Hurricane, Tomko is just terrible. Hurricane won with a rollup. Tomko gave him a kick to the face after the match.

(4) Steven Richards pinned Rodney Mack (w/ Jazz). Crowd was dead for this one, really the only match of the night that people weren't into. Several "boring" chants. Richards won somehow when some interference from Jazz backfired, I really wasn't paying attention.

Coach plugged the Diva Contest, then introduced a special guest ring announcer for the next match, Stacy Kiebler who came out to a great cheer. They did a bit where Coach and Stacy traded insults and Stacy gave Coach a low blow.

(5) Victoria pinned Molly Holly. Not bad but hardly distinguishable from the nine million other matches these two have had. Victoria won with the widows peek.

(6) Eugene pinned Triple H. Both wrestler's got tremendous pops from the crowd. Good action but pretty short. The crowd loyalties were divided on this one, there were a number of "Eugene Sucks" chants. Batista came out to interfere on Triple H's behalf. Eugene landed a rock bottom. Finish came when Eugene reversed a Pedigree attempt into a bridge. After the match Triple H and Batista destroyed Eugene and William Regal who had come out to try and save him.

(7) La Resistance defeated Rhyno & Tajiri to retain the World Tag Team Championship. Good match, La Resistance did there usual bit before the match. Rhyno grabbed a fans sign that read "French Kiss our American Asses" and posed with it. Rhyno was way over with this crowd who chanted "Gore!" Throughout the match. La Resistance won when Rhyno hit the Gore on one of them (I always forget which one is which) and the other rolled him up from behind with a handful of tights. Afterward Rhyno got on the mic and apologized to the fans for letting them down, but promised to chase those "French Faggots" all over the country. Rhyno and Tajiri got a standing ovation as they left.

(8) Edge pinned Chris Jericho in a three way match with Batista to retain the Intercontinental Championship. This match was probably the disappointment of the night. Edge and Jericho did the predictable double team on Batista before turning on each other bit. The finish saw Jericho having Edge in the Walls of Jericho only to be knocked out by Batista. Edge then dumped Batista and covered Jericho. The finish seemed to come out of nowhere after only about 8 minutes just as fans were really getting into it.

(9) Chris Benoit defeated Randy Orton via submission to retain the World Hvt. Championship. A good but not great match. Orton probably had the most heel heat of the night. Chris hit the headbutt for a very near fall. Triple H and Batista came out to interfere. The ref got knocked out. Orton hit the RKO, had Benoit covered as the ref crawled to his feet to make the count but Benoit kicked out. Evolution then beat up the ref. Eugene and Regal came out to fight off Batista and Triple H. Benoit reversed another RKO attempt into a Crossface and Orton very quickly tapped.
