Stacy Keibler may have legs that put gazelles' to shame and a rear end that inspries fellow wrestlers to spout poetry (she says Bubb Ray Dudley told her it "looks like a heart"), but she's still not willing to drop her top for Joe Public. Having nixed three generous offers to pose nude, the 26-year-old WWE Diva may get down and dirty in a wrestling ring, but she still likes to "leave a little to the imagination." But if you've been imagining what it would be like to see Stacy ballroom dance, then you're in luck. She's currently stealing the show on ABC's hit Dancing with the Stars, dropping figurative smackdown on fellow celebs like Mater P, Tia Carrere and Jerry Rice. And guess what? Stacy is gorgeous even she's not choking someone. Stuff: What has it bee like preparing to complete on Dancing with the Stars? Stacy: We've been practicing four hours a day, plus we've been having interviews and photoshoots. My whole life right now is becoming a professional ballroom dancer. Is that easy for you, since you've danced since you were three? It's taken me so long to get the right steps, because I have to break some habits of ballet to do this. I never danced with a partner, and that's incredibly difficult. I just want to be able to do the steps on my own and not deal with someone else tripping up. Ballroom dance is completely different. How did you wind up on the show, anyway? My mom watched the first season and said, "You should see if they're doing a second season, because it would be great to watch you on it." So I called my publicist. It was months of meetings and holding our breath, and then they just called and said, "So, how would you like to be on the show?" I'm sure your world-famous legs didn't hurt your chances. What's the craziest line you've ever gotten about your legs? One time, a guy came up to me and said, "If you ever need help shaving your legs, call me," and he gave me his number. I laughed at the ffort. Regardless of what he said, it's still flattering when someone comes up to you and notices something. When did you first realize you had a body that would inspire men to humiliate themselves like that? I wasn't really aware of it until I got into the wrestling business. I'd start doing interviews, and people like, "You have great legs." And I was like, "I do? Well, that's nice. Thanks." When I was younger, I was always tall, but I wasn't necessarily the tallest one in my class. Are you one of those girls that's going to say you had braces and were dorky and the boys never liked you in high school? Well, I had braces. And in my group of girlfriends there was definitely one girl that everyone loved and wanted to date, and it wasn't me. So you were nerdy? [Laughs] I wouldn't say nerdy so much as goofy. People's perception of me when they look at me is definitely not who I really am. I enjoy the simple things. I love to laugh. I like to make fun of myself. You're all in a business not known for that. Do you have any plans to go under the knife? I'm very happy with how God made me. And I think there's so much more to people than just the physical body. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. It doesn't always have to be physical. So if looks don't matter, what does? I think that frienddship is so important. Everybody's going to mess up, but if you're friends, that goes a long way. So many couples act like different people when they're apart. I don't understand it. You sound pretty sensitive for someone who gets bashed around in a wrestling ring. I've been thrown through trables, thrown into the ring, thrown to the side--just thrown here and there. I've been with with chairs. I've broken my nose twice and cracked my ribs. I don't wrestle full-time, so when I do, my body's not used to it, and I feel like I got into a car wreck. Two days later, I can't even get out of bed. Speaking of bed, what does it take to keep you happy there? I like a guy that snuggles. Every girl might not like that, but it makes me feel safe. What's the sexiest thing a guy has ever said to you? I think it's really sexy when a guy says, "You're beautiful," not "You're hot." Girls love that so much. I don't know why. As a little gir, did you ever imagine yourself as a major player in the wrestler world? Never. I went to an all-girls Catholic high school. I never thought I would be in this business. I don't watch it, and I was never the person who said, "I want to be a wrestler." What do you like about it? It's fun for me to do the things that I do, because it's all character. I'm not at home washing dishes in my bikini and doing that kind of stuff. How much of the job is acting? I'm more of an actress and a personality than a wrestler, so I prefer to be a bad girl in the storyline because I'm not a bad girl in real life. I'm not snotty, so to act like that to the fans, that's being a charater--which is what I love to do. Not many women enjoy being hated It's so much fun. I mean, men like to see women wrestle, so it's so hard to get the crowd to boo you. Which means that if you do, you're doing a damn good job. |
